mister ouch

New finger puppet!  Mister Ouch is a one-of-a-kind art doll that is part of the series of finger puppets I’m creating for some upcoming shows.  For now, the finger puppet series is not for sale.

Mister Ouch will include a few vintage tacks  that you can stick in his body (i hid some holes in several of the red x’s) or you can be nice and leave him alone.  The tack box is pictured just to show you where those tacks came from.  I got it in a dead guy’s garage (aka an estate sale).    I just love the size of them and the fact that the box says’ Sanitized’.  I’m not sure why sanitizing tacks would be a selling point unless you were going to stick them in your eye or something.

Speaking of ouch, I’ve had a really bad week as far as my stupid wrist and arm go, so Mister Ouch stepped in and saved me from having to illustrate for today’s GingerDead and Friends comic.   I used a photograph of him and wrote a poem that is part taunt, part nursery rhyme to accompany it.   Read it here.

That guy is awesome. I can totally picture him with a soft afro that could be used as a pincushion.

Very cool! Great work! I really, really the tack box too – where did you find it?

I found the tacks at an estate sale. i was rummaging through the garage, old tool boxes, etc. hoping for rusty treasures and hit the jackpot.
